Marlene L. Grant, C.P.A.

I am a Chartered Professional Accountant and I have lived, worked and practiced as part of our community in the Ottawa area since 1988.

As an accountant I offer practical and personalized advice and services to owner managed corporations and small businesses, charities, Not for Profit organizations and individuals.

I obtained my Certified General Accountant designation in 2002 and the Chartered Professional Accountant designation due to the merger of all three accounting bodies in Ontario.  For over the30 years I have worked in the public accounting industry and the private sector and as a result I have worked closely with owner-managed business, not-for-profit organization and professional corporations. 

In September 2004 I incorporated Marlene L. Grant Professional Corporation practicing initially on a part-time basis and then full-time in March 2009.  We are an Ottawa (Nepean-Barrhaven) based Chartered Professional Accounting and Certified General Accounting firm of five that takes great pride in offering our clients the highest level of service, thereby enabling them to achieve their personal and business goals.

Serving Ottawa and surrounding areas since 2004, we provide our clients with friendly and quality accounting and taxation services.  Clients that retain our services can expect to deal with experienced professional accountants who are client focused, and who specialize in dealing with small-medium business and individual taxation, accounting, and bookkeeping issues.

Marlene along with her husband, David has two other companies Simple Industries Inc., Importer and Distributor of the Jamaica Blue Mountain® Coffee since 2008 and the Jamaican Me Crazy Coffee Company Ltd., Distributor of the Jamaica Blue Mountain® Coffee since 2012.

Marlene is also a steadfast believer in helping her community and supports many local community groups including:

Community and Charitable support:

• Jaku Konbit Greatness is within me camp, I provide one week of camp for a child in Ottawa.
• Kiva micro loans. To date I have made over 399 micro loans to people in over 49 countries
• Word Vision Canada I sponsored my first child in  April 1988, having just emigrated to Canada in January 1988 as a young woman. To date I have sponsored 11 children, I currently sponsor 2 children aged 3 and age 13.
• Guava Ridge Basic School. High in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, children 3 to 6 years old attend this school. I and my husband through my accounting firm and my husband's Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee importing firm,  as well as our supplier and roaster in Jamaica, Coffee Solutions Ltd, donate a total of 7.5% of our coffee sales in order to provide year round hot cooked lunches for the children at the school. 
• I support the Ottawa Mission and the Barrhaven Food Cupboard.
